Welcome to Ping and Echo, a daily newsletter that shares one amazing podcast episode guaranteed to be a great listen for kids and their families. Each newsletter includes links to articles, videos, and activities related to the podcast so you can turn every episode into an adventure.
Today’s episode is from the Story Seeds podcast. We don’t usually do fiction and storytelling podcasts in this newsletter but Story Seeds isn’t a traditional kids’ story podcast. At Ping and Echo we are always looking for ways to use podcast episodes as a jumping off place for adventures. Combining stories and engagement, writing and participation, is at the heart of Story Seeds. Kids provide the seed of a story and then they are paired up with authors who workshop the idea with the kids and write a story based on it. The podcast walks you through the whole process so you get to hear the author and kid collaborating, and follow their explorations around how they will grow their story seed. We loved having a view into the creative process and hearing the story that resulted.
