That feeling of riding your bike as fast as you can with the world open in front of you
Welcome to Ping and Echo, a daily newsletter that shares one amazing podcast episode guaranteed to be a great listen for kids and their families. Each newsletter includes links to articles, videos, and activities related to the podcast so you can turn every episode into an adventure.
Today’s podcast episode is from The Moth, a live storytelling podcast. The episode features a story from Carly Johnstone who shares her experience growing up in foster care, and the freedom she found in a late night bike ride. The story resonated with us because during this time of quarantine we’ve been turning to our bikes for a bit of freedom and adventure as well. After we listened to this episode we also talked about how “staying home” looks very different for people who live in different kinds of homes. Johnstone’s story of foster care created space for us to think about how other kids and families might be experiencing this moment as well.
